FILM MAGAZINE COVER

This is my final magazine cover.  After having a lot of feedback and a lot of changes I am pleased with my final image of the cover.

This is a draft of my magazine cover that I wanted to achieve. I sketched out the idea before I made the magazine cover as I wanted to make sure it was going to work before wasting my time making a magazine that won't fit together properly

MAGAZINE ANAYLSIS

I am trying to pick different fonts and ideas for my magazine called 'Hashtag'.

These are a few fonts I tried...

I think its important to have the perfect font, so that the magazine attracts the right viewer and works
the best for the magazine.

When studying film posters I realised the name of the film and the main character is the main feature of the cover.
The title stands out in bold, big font to capture the attention of the audience who might be interested in this film.
The magazine covers also stick to a colour theme based on the film. For example I found a magazine cover with
the title 'CAPTAIN AMERICA' The background colour for this cover was an american flag, which is very suited for
the theme of this week's magazine.

I had a few ideas for my magazine cover... these images below. But asking my peers and my teacher for some advice she reminded me that no magazine cover was landscape. So I had to retake my images of Ular, which I think look even better than the ones I originally had.

  1. FILM MAGAZINE COVER (individual) Your overall composition is effective and the principal photography is a strong image of the villain dressed as he appears in the trailer with shades, an arrogant stare and flamboyant coat. The magazine masthead is a little dwarfed by the size of the central splash but the play of purple & yellow complementary colours is eye catching yet harmonious, with two puffs in bubbles, the simple cover lines and inset film images from the poster (which contribute to the promo package's cohesiveness). I like the title and hashtag symbol; it's inventive and apt, and you offer some evidence of drafting. There are conventions included (film slogan, bar code, date, price). Yet it has an unfinished quality with insufficient coverlines and detail that would not make me spend £4.99 on it!
